During my undergrad degree in Interaction Design, I had the opportunity to take many computer science and creative coding classes, such as Computational Practices, Advanced Studio: NUI and Objects, and Upper Division Interface. One topic that fascinated me throughout these courses was physical remote communication.
In this self-led project, I applied remote-control systems to fun methods of long-distance communication. This resulted in Boxie, a cute delivery robot that utilizes a wifi-based remote control system.
Boxie was selected to be shown at the Interface Show in Oakland, California, which saw over 70 attendees.
This project was a really fun opportunity to dive into the realm of creative technology by merging my interest in creative coding with my skillsets in design. It was extremely rewarding to create a design a product, then bring it to life through Javascript and Arduino.
